D.O.S., MAGUINDANAO - In celebration of the Environment Month, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - ARMM conducted a clean-up drive activity in the coastal area of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on Wednesday, June 27.

With the localized theme 'Beat Plastic Pollution Through Me', the activity aims to lessen plastic pollution in the oceans of the region.

ARMM-DENR Secretary Hadji Kahal Q. Kedtag said that the "through me" concept was "added" to the international theme to express one's power to make a change.

"The International community created the theme 'Beat Plastic Pollution', in celebration of the World Environment Day. We took inspiration in that and added "through me" because we are all involved in this [struggle for ecological integrity]," said the Regional Secretary.

"A micro effort when added up together creates a visible impact," he added.

Furthermore, the department head invites everyone to support programs seeking for environmental care.

"We must, at all times, show care for our environment. After all, it is our only home," Kedtag exclaimed.

The Philippine Environment Month is celebrated every month of June. Aside from coastal clean-up, the ENR department also conducted tree planting activity in Barangay Tenorio in D.O.S, Maguindanao on Tuesday. ARMM-DENR HASTENS LAND SURVEY AND TITLING PROJECT THROUGH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources - ARMM Secretary Hadji Kahal Q. Kedtag lauded the Sobreviñas Survey and Engineering Services for bringing the modern engineering apparatus called ‘RTK’ in the region on Tuesday, January 23.

The latest land engineering device will be used for land survey in the municipalities of Maguindanao as part of the ‘Free Land Titling and Survey’ project of the department.
The Regional Secretary is hopeful for a quick completion of the program because of RTK.

‘With gadgets like this, we could finish granting the people their land titles in due time’, said the Regional Secretary.
The ‘RTK’ or Real-Time Kinematic apparatus gathers accurate data with less time constraint.

‘Unlike the old-school gadgets, RTK works really fast. In a span of 3 days, depending on the field situation, we could finish surveying a municipality’, said the RTK Operator Rosebill S. Datudacula of the Sobreviñas Survey and Engineering Services.
